Welcome to Legacy Game Tables: A New Name, the Same Commitment to Craftsmanship and Community
We’ve got big and exciting news: Carolina Game Tables is now Legacy Game Tables! As we enter this new chapter, we want to share the story behind the name change, introduce the new owners, and reassure that some things won’t change – our passion for building high-quality game tables that bring people together. From Carolina to Legacy: Why the Name Change? Over the years, we’ve heard from customers who thought “Carolina Game Tables” meant we only served the Southeast. But our community always extended far beyond state lines. Whether your game night happens in California, Texas, New York or anywhere in between, we’re here to make your experience unforgettable. Legacy Game Tables better reflects the nationwide community we serve as well as the lasting quality and memories built into every table we craft. Meet the New Owners—Same Team, Stronger Future This isn’t just a rebrand – it’s a natural evolution. Sarah Shearman and James Russ have been a part of the CGT family for years and are now stepping into ownership. “We’ve worked with Sarah and James for the past seven years and know CGT customers are in excellent hands,” says co-founder Jodi Black. “This transition gives me time to focus on my health and my service on the GAMA Board of Directors, and it feels right to make the announcement at this year’s Gen Con – ten years after Clint and I first launched Carolina Game Tables at Gen Con.” Both Jodi and Clint Black will remain close to the tabletop community through their work with Pinnacle Entertainment Group, publishers of Savage Worlds, Deadlands, and Doom Guard. Same Tables, Same Quality, New Brass Plate You’ll be happy to hear that nothing about our game tables is changing – except for the brass nameplate. The factory, materials, and methods remain exactly the same, as do the people crafting your table. The only difference? A new logo that reflects our legacy of excellence and a renewed vision for the future. (And yes – because of this update, all in-stock tables with the original Carolina Game Tables plate are currently on sale!) What Legacy Means to Us – and to You For us, "Legacy" is more than just a name. It’s a commitment not only to our customers, but also our gaming community. A commitment to uphold the craftsmanship, customer service, and sense of connection that defined Carolina Game Tables for the past ten years. We’re here to build furniture that lasts, to support your family game nights, and to be part of your story for years to come. To leave a Legacy. We’re excited to bring fresh ideas, new offerings, and an even deeper focus on serving the incredible community of gamers, families, and creatives who gather around our tables. Join Us in the Next Chapter To our past, present, and future customers: thank you. You have helped us grow from our first Kickstarter into a nationwide brand built on care, quality, and community. We invite you to continue this journey with Legacy Game Tables Same team. Same tables. Same heart. Just a new name – and a bright future. Join us at Gen Con We’re excited to be attending Gen Con during this transitional period. You can find us at Booth #2471 where we will have new owners, Sarah and James, as well as previous owners, Jodi and Clint. We will be happy to answer any of your questions about this transition. – The Legacy Game Tables Team

Learn moreCarolina Game Tables Changes in 2025: What’s Next?
Summary: Carolina Game Tables will stop accepting Personalized orders of game tables on May 1, 2025 and reduce attendance at game conventions due to family health issues. This allows staff to focus on the furniture quality and customer care our company is known for. We’re excited to announce the launch of our customer loyalty program and a new website. Thanks for your support for over TEN wonderful years! Don’t forget, our Tax Free Tables sale ends May 1, 2025, where we pay any applicable sales tax on new orders. Hi friends, Jodi Black here, President of Carolina Game Tables and mom of the Black family who owns and operates the company. There’s a lot to share, and I appreciate everyone who reads it all. If you’re short on time, I’ve included a summary above. Life can be short; spend it playing games with the people you care about. Why is the Personalized Line Going Away May 1st? We’re temporarily halting orders for some of our Personalized game tables beginning May 1st, 2025–at the end of the Tax Free Tables sale. This allows our family to take some much-needed time off while reducing the overall workload for our team. While we hope to bring these designs back in the future, we can’t guarantee it. Table orders already in progress will continue to be built. If the order page is not visible (see New Website below), email info@carolinagametables.com to place your order. The following table designs will be affected: Breakfast, 5×5, Kitchen, and Coffee Game Table. Our Signature Line tables—Tablezilla, Banquet, and Dining Game Tables—will still be available, though without the full range of finish, height, and cup holder options offered in the Personalized line. The Streamer Game Table, key to promoting and supporting the tabletop game industry, will remain available. By making these changes, we can keep our tradition strong of quality craftsmanship and excellent customer service. Google Us! Carolina Game Tables is one of the oldest and most respected game table manufacturers in the United States, largely due to our superior economic table construction and compassionate customer service. Read our Google reviews, what people say about us on Reddit, BoardGameGeek, YouTube, etc… Please (pretty please) research not only our company, but read about our sustainable furniture industry practices. A well-built, functional and beautiful, piece of furniture can last for generations and stops the cycle of expensive “disposable” home decor. Let us know if you have any questions by emailing infocarolinagametables.com What is Available After May 1st, 2025, and Why? In short: the Signature line, Elite line, and Streamer Game Table. Signature game tables are our most popular table designs and are stocked for quick shipment. They require minimal specialized labor making them the most efficient to produce while still meeting the needs of most customers. The Elite line, launched in 2024, was designed for gamers with the most refined tastes. This collection includes: the Deluxe Dragon Chair, Dragonhide ottoman, and matching throw pillows. It also includes our storage benches and mahogany dining room chairs (with seat cushions!). Since these pieces are highly specialized they result in fewer orders for our staff to manage. As mentioned above, the Streamer will remain available for purchase due to its unique supportive role in live streaming tabletop gaming. New Website During the next few weeks Carolina Game Tables will roll out a new website making ordering easier and integrate with more platforms. Some pages may not be available at launch, so if you don’t see the product you’re looking for, email us at info@carolinagametables.com and we’ll personally help you place your order. (Edit: you are on the new website now. What do you think?) Announcing Customer Loyalty Program Our best customers buy from us time and again–it’s not unusual to see an order for three tables shipping to one family! Game room, dining room, living room, children’s play room, breakfast nook… if you’re the kind of gamer who likes to host fun events then you LOVE a Carolina Game Table in every room! Starting today, after placing an order, please tell us which of our former customers gets the credit for your sale. We’ll give that customer credit toward a future purchase. If it’s yourself… we’ll give you a discount prior to purchase! Get the conversation started by emailing info@carolinagametables.com Lately our customers have returned for storage benches, mahogany chairs with seat cushions to match the play area of the table, and even the Deluxe Dragon Chair itself. Discounts/credit are applied prior to checkout. Payment plans are available as low as $200/month or 0% financing through PayPal Pay Later / Venmo, Affirm, and Klarna. What is the Family Convention Schedule? Currently we plan to attend Gen Con in Indianapolis, PAX West in Seattle, Mythic in Charlotte, and PAX Unplugged in Philadelphia. This may change as the year progresses. Please keep an eye on our socials. What Health Concerns? Because I know folks will ask, I’m the one with health issues, and my recovery time is measured in months (but not years, and not anything life threatening). It does mean that our non-family staff will need to shift to cover more of our family duties, though, which is why we’re making this announcement. THANK YOU for supporting our family business for over a decade. Tax Free Table Sale until May 1st! The end of the Personalized line of tables ends with our Tax Free Tables sale on May 1st, 2025. In this promotion we cover the sales tax on new purchases from our website. Remember those payment plans–0% financing is good stuff when you can get it! Play Games and Be Happy One reason our family is grateful beyond measure is YOU. How many other businesses can say they get to play so much for a living? I’ve seen people passionate about the games they enjoy and eager to share that joy for decades now. It’s beautiful. We’re happy our game tables have become part of so many people’s stories and lives. I want to encourage people to play more. Everyone deserves a mental break. Forge new connections or rekindle old ones with people in the real world if possible. Memories are seldom made on purpose without ritual; rather, it’s the accumulation of great everyday moments which bring meaning. And if your “everyday moment” is a particular known recipe for group events, or a funny/awful kind of dice luck, that’s just part of the fun. You read all the way to the end–congratulations! Email info@carolinagametables.com for a free set of our leather coasters (made 100% from post-industrial waste) with your order. Tell them “We play games too.”
